Frequently Asked Questions
HOW DO I MAKE A BOOKING?
- You can book your room on the HATCH website. An Administration Charge of €100 is payable to complete each booking.
- To confirm a booking a Booking Deposit of €500 is payable within 28 days of booking.
- The Room Agreement must be signed within 28 days of booking. This is a Fixed Term Room Agreement covering the 41-week Tenancy Period from 29 August 2025 to 12 June 2026.
IS THE BOOKING DEPOSIT REFUNDABLE?
- The Booking Deposit of €500 is payable within 28 days of making your booking.
- After the 28-day period, the Booking Deposit is fully refundable up to 29 August 2025 where a replacement student tenant has been found for the room.
- If the booking is cancelled after 29 August 2025 the Booking Deposit becomes non-refundable.
WHAT’S THE SECURITY DEPOSIT AND IS IT REFUNDABLE?
- Once you move in your Booking Deposit becomes your Security Deposit.
- The Security Deposit is refundable 4 weeks after the end of the Tenancy Period, less any deductions for non-payment of any Room Fees due, any bills owing, and any damage beyond normal wear and tear at the end of the Tenancy Period.
WHEN DO I PAY?
- Room Fees for the 41-week Tenancy Period are payable in one of three ways:
- One instalment on 1 August 2025 to avail of a €150 payment discount.
- Three equal instalments on 1 August 2025, 1 November 2025 and 1 February 2026.
- Nine equal monthly instalments commencing on 1 August 2025 and ending on 1 April 2026. In this case the Security Deposit is increased from €500 to an amount equal to the monthly instalment and this additional deposit amount is payable by 1 August 2025.
- Where a booking is cancelled after 29 August 2025 Room Fees are non-refundable unless a replacement student has been found for the room.
DO I NEED A GUARANTOR?
Yes you will need a parental guarantor to sign your contract unless you have paid your Room Fees in full in advance.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING WITH ME WHEN MOVING IN?
- Your apartment and bedroom will be fully furnished.
- All you need, other than your own belongings, is a duvet, pillow, towels and bed linen. Contact us if you would like to buy a bedding pack which will be in your room on arrival.
WHAT IF I LEAVE EARLY?
- If you decide to leave early you remain responsible for the rent for the duration for your tenancy. However, if you are able to find a suitable replacement for your room, then the tenancy will be cancelled, and a rent refund will be given.
- The Security Deposit becomes non-refundable if you leave early.
WHAT IF I DON'T LIKE MY FLATMATES?
We understand it can be tough sometimes living with new friends. We have a lot of experience in mentoring. If you are having difficulties settling in, please let us know.
WHAT ABOUT SAFETY & SECURITY
At HATCH we go over and above to make sure our properties are safe and secure using state of the art access control and CCTV systems. But don’t forget, security is a community experience also, your friends and roommates rely on you too.
DO I HAVE A TV?
Our focus is delivering you with superfast Wi-Fi throughout so that you can stream to your hearts content. Our residents tell us this is more important than basic TV so there is no TV provided.
DO I HAVE WIFI?
High speed broadband, and unlimited access. There is nothing more to say!
WILL MY APARTMENT BE CLEANED DURING MY STAY?
- Students will be expected to maintain the cleanliness of the shared facilities and their own bedroom.
- Our cleaners will clean the common areas outside of the apartment on a regular basis.
IS THERE A MAINTENANCE SERVICE AVAILABLE?
Log any maintenance requests online by email or through our portal and we will respond quickly. If there is a problem let us know, and we will do everything we can to help.
WILL MY APARTMENT BE INSPECTED?
Yes, inspections will be carried out in each apartment a number of times during your stay and any damages or cleanliness issues will be addressed by the management team. Additional charges may be incurred for damages and/or cleaning services.
CAN I STAY OVER THE SUMMER MONTHS?
Yes we offer extended stays through the summer months. Please contact us for details.
CAN I HAVE PETS?
Sorry, we don’t accommodate pets at HATCH.
CAN I GET POST/PARCELS?
Post is delivered by the post office to your apartment post box. For online shopping and parcel post we will sign for them and keep them at the office for you to collect.
CAN FRIENDS/FAMILY STAY?
Guests are permitted at certain times but only with advance notice to HATCH via email. HATCH reserves the right to restrict guests if necessary for operational, security or safety reasons.
